Hurom Slow Juicer – How to Make Soya Bean Milk

Soy milk is a favourite healthy drink for anybody's fridge. It is full of nutrients and is a great beverage for breakfast, and health drink at anytime of the day. Soy bean milk can be expensive if you buy them at the store. For Soybeans milk, you can buy packets of soybean which cost around S$2.50 for organic ones.

I like to share how you can make your own (organic) soymilk using Hurom and the best thing is you need not buy a separate soy milk machine. You simply use the hurom slow juicer. You can make Soy milk and it is easy and healthy drink for you and your family too.

It can be served hot or you can pour it into bottles and keep it in the refrigerate after it has cooled to room temperature;
it will stay fresh for 2-3 days in air-tight container. Try this! Freshly made soy milk tastes so much better!

Soak soybean overnight
Cook Time – 2-3 minutes

– 4 cups of dried soy beans
– 6 cups of water (less if you prefer thicker milk)
– flour sack cloth

1) First rinse the soy beans well and soak it in water overnight.
2) Boil a pot of water, add in soy beans and turn on the heat to low for 2-3 minutes.
3) Let the soy beans sit for about 45 minutes.
4) Pour soy beans and water (1:1 ratio) into the juicer chute repeatedly and there you
get instant soybean milk!
The soy milk can be served hot or you can place it into clean bottles and refrigerate after it has cooled to room temperature; it will stay fresh for 3-5 days in your fridge. The puree left over after extracting the soy milk is called okara and is used in various recipes.

Freshly made soy milk tastes a lot better than the commercial variety and it certainly costs less. If you prefer having unprocessed foods or want to store foods for emergencies it may be worth your while to make your own soy milk.
